Lehigh Township's Regional DUI Task Force

Funding:

Lehigh Township's Regional DUI Enforcement Program is funded by a yearly grant from Penn DOT.  In the 2016-2017 grant our program was awarded  $40,000 to conduct Checkpoints, Roving Patrols, Cops in Shops and Mobile Awareness Patrols.  This grant is active from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017.  The grant provides salaries and equipment for the above listed departments.

Lehigh Township Police Department receives an additional grant from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.  In the 2015-2017 grant Lehigh Township Police was awarded $39,830 to conduct Roving Patrols, Cops in Shops Programs and equipment.  This grant is utilized within Lehigh Township. 


Lehigh Township’s Regional DUI Enforcement Program consists of 12 collaborating police departments within 17 municipalities within Northampton County. They cover approximately 160 square miles and have approximately 730 state and local roadways.  The municipalities have an approximate population of 91,772.
